i think we could round up 99% to 100%, if you still have a vibration it can be due to something else like alignment or something with the brakes.

rim could be out of round. (mfg defect) see if you can have them ship another to you.

Looks like all they have done is take the long strip of weights and double them up, so they are more in one place. I wouldn't accept that amount of weight. Did they dismount the tire and turn it on the rim? Did they actually measure the rim, or just rebalance it? What does the supplier of the rim say, will he exchange it for one that is made to a tighter tolerance?

I still feel vibration through the steering which becomes more apparent when cornering. Have just emailed the supplier to see if they will replace the rim and tire.

Sorry, just read the whole thread, it seems you have 2 problems, 1 is you need the hub-centric rings. 2 is the bad balance issue.

This is all true. Some funky wheels causing a problem compounded by a balancer guy who probably is over his head (or maybe would get fired if he told you the truth). A decent, round wheel with non-defective tires can be perfectly balanced with very few weights.

The wheels look great though. Too bad there is a problem.

That tells me that they balanced the brick, but didn't check it for out of round. Please do yourself a favor and go to a shop with a road force balancer, as that measures the amount of physical force the out of roundness puts to the ground. Excessive road force in a wheel assembly can shake the vehicle like you are describing while the wheel is perfectly balanced otherwise.

I balance 20" and bigger every day and NEVER have to use that many weights. There is definitely something off in that wheel, and you need a road force balancer to find out what.

I think were beating a dead horse here. It's a BENT Wheel so have the vendor replace it, sent them supporting proof like test readout or statement from wheel install shop. I went through same thing and my vendor replaced it, I however do not recommend driving around with that wheel. Good Luck.

Wow. If lead prices shoot through the roof this would be good. Anyway, you can usually see an out of round wheel just by spinning it. Something is definately wrong. In fact, anytime I have more than 2 ouces I break the bead and spin the tire around to try to offset the light spot. Take this to a different shop. If this shop sold you the wheel then you should tell them to give you a new wheel.

Both front wheels have been returned to supplier for inspection. Ill keep you posted on the outcome. Thanks to everyone for your input.

I have these OEM rims - there are no issues with minimal amount of weights being used. Tire shop saying hard to balance? That sounds like they don't know what they are doing. Something else with the wheel or tire are going on and they don't know how to diagnose it. That first picture of putting on all those weights is boarder line criminal (not really just saying it for impact)- how stupid they didn't bother to mention it to you. Now that you will have other wheels I'd take my business to another tire dealer for mounting. Just ask them about their equipment before you commit, do they frequently mount/balance wide tires and rims etc. Good luck!

They would be a well respected and large supplier of alloy wheels in this country.
Im suspecting that it could be down to the quality of the replica rim. It does not fit as tight on the hub as the 19" OEM I took off. Although they dont need hubcentric rings there is defo a tiny amount of play on the hub. Probably down to manufacturing tolerances not being as good as OEM.
The rear rims they supplied are a different brand and require hubcentric rings. I wasnt happy about this originally but thought if they drive ok Ill accept it. Shoud I ask for the same brand fronts as rears?
