Weasel will become famous soon enough
If those are reps made for the E53, they shouldn't need hub rings... when you put them on did the rim have room to move up/down in the hub?

You may just need the wheels road force balanced.

I just bought the truck and noticed when i started driving it that the steering wheel would shack around. It would happen starting at 40mph and continue. Then the other night on the highway for a brief few seconds it stopped then started again and continued. So i ordered rings cause my friend suggested they needed it. I ordered 72.6 to 74 per his recommendation. thoughts?

Ask the tire shop if the center hub is the right size or if the centering rings are needed. They should be able to measure it for you.

I took the X in again to get balanced and raised up to check out better. After looking at the rims closer you can see that there were 0 weights on the inside of the rim, strange. Once removed you can see that they placed them all on the back of the rim, an no no. When we went to balance the first rim it was off by 5 to 10 grams. We then removed all of the previous poorly applied weights from the rim and the rim came back off by 1 gram. All the other rims where the same way. It was shocking how poor and careless it was done in the first place. We zeroed them all out and remounted them with the rings due to some minor play when on the hub in the rear. After a test drive it was a whole new X. It was perfectly straight and no shake at all. They ride and handle great now, I can't believe the difference. Thank you all for your help with this. Case closed for me.....

Amazing what a proper job can do... and even more amazing is how a "tire shop" that does nothing but tires can do the worst quality job with them at times.

Now that she is right, enjoy that X5 the way she deserves!
