Personally - I HATE ppl that double park in NY. Mostly when they double park right beside an open space where they can pull over. Happens all the time- you're better off parking by a hydrant if you're not going to take long than double parking.

Agree it was avoidable but garage shouldn't F up your vehicle. Either way thanks for the lesson. I'm paying tickets on the spot from my mobile. LOL.

JCL, how did I know that the next comment after mine would be yours! If you change your name to Javert, I'll change mine to 24601.

Don't even get me started about people double parking. Frankly I think no street in NYC should be allowed to have cars parked on BOTH sides of it at the same time. If that simple rule could get passed, traffic would move so much better throughout the entire city.

How many tickets over what period of time and how many dollars + penalties for being late are we talking about? Oh, and sorry for your damage - it sucks.

100% agreed.

I sincerely hope the car gets all fixed up as good as new.

Good luck dude.

Sorry to hear about it , probably been said but it sounds like they just tow'd it from the front tires, leading to the tow arms (etc. ) pulling the front parts off the car, and probably damaging the drivetrain, I can't tell you how many times I've seen some tow trucks just lower his equipment back up and emidiatetly drive off with car regarless off it make and shape(complete BS)
...only thing thats wierd is you still could drive it so

...and to peoples points about self inflincted damage, so if your saying its ok to damage someones car because of unpaid parking ticket, should it be ok for police to beat the sh!t out of someone that has unpaid speeding tickets or a bench warrant?

No that is not OK and neither is what happend to the OP's X, but don't put your car in other peoples hands who are notoriois for treating cars like sh!t.

Pay the ticket and this won't happen for sure. Don't pay it and take the chance of this happening. That is just how the world works.

People need to be aware of their actions and what consequences they may bring. Try not to put yourself or your car in harms way. By not paying the tickets the OP should have known that the car may get towed and he should have also thought about the fact that not all towing companies will baby your car like you do and sometimes sh!t happens when people of this nature handle your vehicle. It is simple, really.
