New Transmission Software = AWESOME!!!

Had the "newest" (will try to find out which version) Software installed last week into my '04 4.4i (valvetronic).

What a difference! The much-talked about hesitation from a stop is gone, as is the mysterious "phantom rear ending" type sound/jerk when accelerating on a steep hill. The thing just seems smoother to me through the entire torque curve. I'm no expert but it sure feels better.

Just an FYI for those of you with '04 and '05's. SF BMW told me this software was coming pre-installed on '06's.

OMG, Im not imagining things!! Twice and counting. But ONLY when I stop. Once I press the brakes, it does this little "jerk" and I look in my rear view to see if the person hit me or not!...One question, how much $$$?

mfrymier - do you have any more details on this? I'ld like to call my dealer and see if they can do this, but i'ld rather not call them up blind and say "hey i read on a message board that... blah blah" .

Thanks

Thumbs up Great news!!

I've bought my X5 3.0D 3 weeks ago and I am soooo happy with it. But there is this issue about hessitation on a STOP. I was so worried about it until I read your post. Thanks a lot on the info and as soon as you know more details please post them here.

Best regards to all from Spain :-)

would be there be any benifit for me to take my 2004 X5 3.0 in for the update?

no real issues with tranny, but would it possibly improve mileage or make things shift smoother? is newer better?
