well, I found 3 in Florida, which is about a 5hr drive for me. I'm thinking of flying down there and looking at the cars and driving one home, provided that at least one of them fit's my fancy. The 05 is a 4.4. Not a Bad Price, but I hear horror stories of the 05 4.4 needing a lot of maintenance.

1:
Year: 2006
Make: BMW
Model: X5-Series
Trim: 3.0i

Mileage: 38,778
Exterior Color: BLUE
Stock Number: 000A3261
Internet Price: $27,987.00

2:

Year: 2006
Make: BMW
Model: X5-Series
Trim: 3.0i

Mileage: 48,235
Exterior Color: Jet Black
Stock Number: 000A3287
Internet Price: $27,687.00

3:

Year: 2005
Make: BMW
Model: X5-Series
Trim: 4.4i

Mileage: 42,803
Exterior Color: Jet Black
Stock Number: 000A3290
Internet Price: $26,987.00

What would you offer for these 3?
My Thought:
1)26,500K
2)26,500K
3)25,500K

From my pre-purchase research, I did not really hear that. The 3.0 are good motors and have adequate power, but no inherent problems with the 4.4's.

As far as price, it's in the ball park, if CPO'd and pristine and fully optioned, that's an OK price, imo.

Sounds like you're ready to buy - so it's "what's the best deal available, and buy it" mode.

Yeah, I think the price is fair already. i want to get the extended warranty too. So perhaps I can have him throw that in and offer a few 100 less than sticker price. If he agrees, then I feel it's a good deal and will drive it back to Atlanta. 6hr drive is gonna be rough, but it's for a good cause, right?

No fear here. A big part of my job is procurement and negotiation. I prefer to see it as not over-paying by 33% in this market.
I'd say this particular dealer had close to 15 pre-owned X5's. You're in NoVa, think of how many dealers there are within 30 miles. Fairfax, Sterling, Arlington, VOB... That's allot of competition in your backyard with that much inventory sitting on the lot.
And $32k for a non-CPO? They were out of their minds...
So, I'd say we're in agreement. The non-CPO car should've been priced at $26K then sold for $21,5

Besides, I've got a killer set of tools.
