I'm also looking and it seems that the CPO X5 4.4's are pricey. There are three Imola X5 4.4 CPOs in California with a low of $29k for an '05 w/48k to an '06 at $34k w/48k to an '05 at $35k w/27k miles. All loaded w/nav, nappa, cwp, pp, sp, etc.

I'd prefer a 4.8iS but they are up in the $40k's for a CPO. I'm beginning to think that perhaps I should get an ebay one and an extended warranty. Probably cheaper overall...

Ours is a 2006 CPO 3.0, loaded with NAV, 38k for $26k in February through BMWFS at 0.9%.

Clearly their are slight differences in price based on everything from location to time of month and desperation of sales staff. Cars that sit are cheaper. Cars that are Black or Silver are more expensive. So much to this game that advice on a "good price" is so complicated. Anyway, I guess we can get close with our collective feedback. Now certainly is an awesome time to buy.

We picked up our X5 and without a doubt were sold on it from jump. Obviously not letting on, but we were SET on Highland Green on Beige with NAV. this being our second X5 and liking a uniqure color, our selection was very limited. Also, we were on a timeframe coming out of our X3 lease.

So to us it was like finding gold, and $26k was the right price. We couldn't be happier and most important is we're behind the wheel of our beloved E53 X5 once again. Highland green should be renamed "Slate Grey with slight green-ish tint under artificial light. Under normal light the car is slate-grey-green. It's freakin' beautiful.

PS - We also skated on about $1600 of lease end BS on our X3 with this deal. Last months payment, excess miles, disposition fee waived and chipped windshield. All free with the CPO X5 purchase. As I said, now is certainly a great time to buy!

Good luck

Just saying, there are some deals to be had and buyers have the upper hand right now no matter how cocky some of these salesmen continue to be. Of course every market is different and I think we have a glut of dealers in the DC Metro area.
If mine were CPO, I would've offered closer to $24k then walked away.

rcap,
Definitely drive an 8cyl. and good luck with your search!
not to scare you man, but if the dealer went $11K lower on a $32K car, you better save up. they went down 33% lower than sticker price? something telling me its not right. if they start at $26K and sold it at $21K, thats normal. but somehow they believe the car could sell at $32K and quickly agree with you at $21K thats unheard of.

I'm interested in how much it cost, but more importantly, how and where you made the deal to get it at a good price. Details!
