Hey weasel, in that case, you should consider getting a black dock connector cable that has a right angle connector and run it inside the center console and out one of the cupholder holes.

in ashtray but slightly different
Hi Guys, I fitted my AUX In just below the cig lighter, I thought it was a nice and discreet and does not take up any space in the tray area.Did not bother with the little ID plate.

X5 Meister, where did you get the dock connector with the right angle connector? I've been looking for one so that I can close the lid.

I mounted mine in the ashtray too, that left piece is actually a thin piece of metal so I didn't use the cover plate either. There is also a huge hole underneath the ashtray so the wiring loops through easily. It's worth mentioning that the ashtray is very brittle plastic (I cracked mine slightly when I drilled it)

As soon as iPhone 3.0 software comes out (I have been playing with the Betas) which has A2DP I plan on hiding my aux in location and connecting one of these:
Anycom BAR-10 Bluetooth Audio Receiver : Home Electronics(8270) : Speakers & Subwoofers : Misc. Right now I have the wire coming out underneath near the center console and then it comes up by the seatbelt area, but once I have A2DP and bluetooth hooked up, should be able to just hop in the car and play music wirelessly.
