My cable is very long. It can reach the drivers seat from the glove box if needed.
Thing is I just let it play and I guess not knowing what's going
to be played next is half the fun.

Hi Guys, I fitted my AUX In just below the cig lighter, I thought it was a nice and discreet and does not take up any space in the tray area.Did not bother with the little ID plate.

Yeah, I did consider this, but I don't always have the ipod there as I do use the cupholders quite often. Sometimes I just tuck it into the boot of the e-brake.

X5 Meister, where did you get the dock connector with the right angle connector? I've been looking for one so that I can close the lid.

I mounted mine in the ashtray too, that left piece is actually a thin piece of metal so I didn't use the cover plate either. There is also a huge hole underneath the ashtray so the wiring loops through easily. It's worth mentioning that the ashtray is very brittle plastic (I cracked mine slightly when I drilled it)

As soon as iPhone 3.0 software comes out (I have been playing with the Betas) which has A2DP I plan on hiding my aux in location and connecting one of these:

Anycom BAR-10 Bluetooth Audio Receiver : Home Electronics(8270) : Speakers & Subwoofers : Misc.

Right now I have the wire coming out underneath near the center console and then it comes up by the seatbelt area, but once I have A2DP and bluetooth hooked up, should be able to just hop in the car and play music wirelessly.
