PDC range adjust
The Parking distance thingy in my 05 X5 3.0d emits a solid beep when objects are 30cm away or closer. This isn't useful to me. I need to get within 10cm of things. Has anyone seen any hacks that allow the adjustment of the range? I've got one of Rolf's cables on the way, but I doubt that will help. Failing that, is there any way to set the PDC's so they don't automatically come on when I put the car in reverse? I'd still like to be able to turn them on, but they are a pain in the butt when I am maneuvering in small spaces (5 point turn to get into my garage!).. Sorry if this is a FAQ. DId a search and couldn't find anything.. Cheers Scott. |

I was wondering the same thing. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Been a while since I've been in there... but I'm pretty sure there is a setting in car and key memory to set PDC to not come on automatically with reverse. As for the distance setting, I've not personally seen any way to successfully adjust that. Maybe add a top view reverse cam type setup? I was thinking if I could find an aftermarket reverse cam that wasn't too zoomed out looking I'd stick it right next to the third brake light looking down at that angle. That would suit my needs pretty well.
