I purchased a key off ebay ( UK ) for $ 45 aud, it cost me $28 to have it cut & $90 to have it programmed by a local business ( Newcastle ) I was told the same story as so many others even the largest key cutting shop we have here told me you need to have a viper key cutter to do the job and no one has one in N'cle, I went to a little key cutter in Gosford sth of N'cle and his words "yeah no probs mate I can do it''

Talking Hi Jack

I live in Perth and I'm having key dramas. I have a 2001 525 e39. I thought the battery had died, but now the doors/trunk work remotely, but the engine won't start. Not sure if the contacts for battery have been disturbed, stange. I also have a transponder key I need cut and coded, can you help me with this.

Thanks

Peter

Bloody X5 keys

Hi Jack,
Noticed this is a very old post I hope you are still repairing keys. If so I have an 02 X5 needing some TLC.
Cheers

I do too. Keyless entry is only working sporadically with my primary key. Secondary, hardly used key works all the time. I noticed the other day that when I turned the key to start it it took a good 2-3 seconds for the starter to actually engage. Almost like they key wasn't supplying the right code to the ECU. How much are keys in the US?

Key fob & GM repair for N. America

For the N American guys, Scott repairs the non-working keys for 50 Bux. Linky. Open the page and click on the key fob link. He also repairs the GM and other bits. He can be contacted via e-mail or phone (listed in the link). Very nice and knowledgeable person.
