side folding mirror fixed with pics
Hi i was reading about fixing my side mirrors but nobody showes pics so i took chance to fix it or break it.
I tried on driver side first and it worked i didn't have to open pass side but you may have to try both. First remove the cover how to open go here http://www.xoutpost.com/attachments/...g?d=1172692777 2nd you will see something like this in the picture below ![]() 3rd when i pulled a part it looked like this pic below ![]() 4th pick up the broken (steel) piece and b4 you try to put it back on the switch make sure tight the steel end with plier so it will fit properly on the switch. it will fit like this pic below ![]() 5th put the switch back in the cover and slide it back in the mirror and try if the steel thing needs little adjusting like this pic (1 below) or you can try it without putting cover in see pic (2 below) 1 pic ![]() 2 pic ![]() 6th if you can get to this step you will find out how to put it back to gather so enjoy and sorry if i type something wrong. it worked for me i hope it works for you.

What was not functioning properly for your mirrors. I have the power folding mirrors and they are not working properly. They make the entire folding motion but they dont stay folded in. Was this similar to the problem you were having?

This sounds like it is not very difficult. How would you rate it as far as difficulty on a 1-10 scale? Was it pretty straight forwards after you took the cover off? By fixing the wire on only the drivers mirror this will make both mirrors stay folded in? Thanks for the write up.

Hey Sarb, I have some time this weekend and was going to take the mirrors apart and try to solve the folding mirror issue. I see many people have stressed that the most difficult part is taking the mirror housing off. Do you have any tips or pointers for when I take the covers off. It would be much appreciated... I cant wait to have my folding mirrors back!!!

Thanks, I think I may have seen your post. There was one about switching out the lights in the mirrors for LED's. There is good info on the forum about removing the mirror covers. It seems like everyone makes the note to be very careful while pulling the cover off, so I was just seeing if anyone has some tips. I'm sure pulling the covers is something a little scary at first but after you've done it once its easy. Thanks for the response!

print this it helps thats what i didhttp://www.xoutpost.com/attachments/...g?d=1172692777 make sure you are not having beer when doing this this takes lots patients so you need to take it easy slowly and pry it from the bottom from car side with flat screwdriver you will need 2 to 3 flat screwdrivers (i needed it) (the reason i said make sure no beer when i drink i break something lol) good luck

Sound like this fix takes some patience. It is always a little scary when removing things that have plastic tabs and not breaking them. I remember when i took the front bumper off and was being very careful not to break any plastic tabs. (there are two on each side of the bumper) anyways thanks for the info and i hope ill have folding mirrors soon!! |
