On my '06 4.8is, in mixed driving I am getting 16MPG. And that's from mashing on the accelerator to hear that Dinan exhaust at every stop light!

Are you guys talking about hand calculated (real) or what the computer tells you (dreamin)? I'm getting a city/highway mix of about 17 and some change (hand calculated), computer tells me i'm getting 21-22. Frankly I don't see the need for the computer to display these calcs if they are ALWAYS incorrect. Range and mpg numbers are always off and always way too high. I feel like a drug addict that gets a high off of looking at the computer mpg and comes down hard when I whip out the calculator for the real story. One good thing about the computer calcs are that they are consistantly inconsistant, meaning that I can always guess the real mpg by subtracting 4 mpgs from what the computer tells me and be pretty close to the hand calculated number. Anyone else notice this?

you can correct that in the instrument cluster via test functions for consumption correction factor.

My mileage calculated by odometer and refueling was always within 0.2 mpg of the OBC.

Sweet, and all this time I settled for imperfection. I will check this out asap. Any special procedure to follow to recalibrate?

I get 14.7 on average (just reset computer about 5 days ago) with 03 4.4. My buddy has an 03 4.6is and he claims about 11-12.
It seems like our mileage is terrible when compared to face lift. Jsears, you're getting 16 with that 4.8??? How? Are the N62 V8s more efficient? |
