Finished up the front wiring today. Just waiting on the switch. Put it all back together anyway as the switch replacement will take all of 2 minutes once it comes in. Nearly complete!

And done! Switch came in today and everything works perfectly. Even my LED in the switch functions just as before. Thanks again and a huge shout out to avonside, mrtm2008, TerminatorX5 and Ricky Bobby for their efforts. It made my mod so much easier.

Amazing how much wiring this mod. requires when many markets get this function as standard - mine included. You would have thought that the looms were all common...

All in all, it is really just 2 wires that need to be integrated into the factory wiring. It is just the disassembly that takes the most time. I think I have about 3 to 4 hours and $150 in it taking my time and doing it right.

My E46 sedan was way easier, the wiring was all there and al I had to do was simply add a Euro switch faceplate to my existing LCM and program both left and right lights to be on. I think I had less than 10 minutes and $30 on that one...

Ok dumb question and honestly I don't know this... What does this mod do for American drivers? Its amber rear reverse lights basically right?

It adds the rear fog light option that the US market never got. It lights the center red lenses below the reverse lights that are plugged from the factory for cars headed to the USA.

All we really get out of it is a level 3 cool factor and a little more safety being more visible from the rear in heavy rain or fog.

It's also great for tail-gators - flick those puppies on and watch them back off!!

And we get a lot of early morning fog here - so a good safety feature.

Would this part work as well?
