No notice of such and I was just at the dealer today after an impromtu service. I have had an ingition coil changed when the engine was experiencing some occasional stuttering and sputtering.

Nothing here yet either. I have an appt. next Wednesday, I will find out more then. Kevin, FYI, I just bought the WarrantyDirect Luxury Care 4 year/60k mile $0 Deductible extended warranty for my X since my warranty expires on 11/23/05. I paid $2,350. I'm taking her in next week for a final check before she runs out of warranty. I'm going to have them check the front control arms, and hopefully replace the final stage resistor, as it has intermittently acted up during the last few months. Is there anything else I should have them check while I am there? I will have them check the brakes btw.

I was in the dealership several weeks ago and they did that for my 2003 E39. The coils were changed to Bosch ones.

The recall is for X5 3.0 from 9/02 to 12/04. It is for the replacement of Bremi coils with Bosch. The bulletin is 12 13 05. You should be able to have a dealer run your vin to determine if you have an open recall for this. It is also for some 3, 5 and 7 series vehicles.

SG: I got my FSR replaced w/out any prob....it was "working" when I got there, but had glitched a few times. Have them look at brake pad thickness for sure. I also got brake fluid changed a while back under the "maint" part of the Ext maint deal I had. You might also push for a coolant re-do, based on time and your extremely high temps...even if they don't do it no charge, it might be worth it to start the next segment of your X's life with a fresh load of coolant in that "dry inferno" ya'll operate in there in AZ. Excellent advice Uncle Motor. I will check into the coolant change next week as well. BTW, thanks for your recommendation on WarrantyDirect, that saved me a ton of research!!
