An FYI for everybody; I'm sure you all know that under full maintenance, even if your green bars don't indicate that it's time to bring your car in for maintenance, you're entitled to one "low mileage annual oil change" (there's an SIB out there somewhere for it). In order for a car to be certified pre-owned, there has to be at least one oil change done annually. Unfortunately, since this X5 I have now was never drive, there was only one oil change done, approximately 1.5 years into ownership. Since it doesn't meet the criteria for certification, BMW has asked the shop to pull the valve covers off and take pictures of the insides, I'm assuming to show there is no gunk inside the engine. How they don't just certify a car with 83 miles is beyond me.

Congrats, I bought one also.
China Man, congratulations on your purchase. I bought a black ultra low mileage 2006 X5 4.8is from Gregg (Biggar) a few months ago and could not be happier. Gregg is a true gentleman and made my cross country purchase very easy. Mine had about 89 miles on it when I bought it and was in as new condition also. Since it also is still under the factory warranty / maintenace program, I took it to my local dealership and they were amazed by its condtion and even commented that it was stored correctly. To be on the safe side, I replaced the tires with Michelin Latitudes (need an all season tire in NJ) and the battery. I do plan to put the 4.6is wheels on it as I prefer them to the 4.8is wheels. I also plan to have some Dinan mods very soon. I never thought about the possibility of getting it CPO'd. Would you mind sharing some details on the process.
Again, congrats on your purchase. Cheers. Bruce Last edited by 96ce; 01-09-2010 at 12:55 PM. |
