Nice work CW!
I may just have to “barrow” your idea ![]() Did you give any thought to replacing the manual “plunger” with an appropriate air tight cap and potentially adding an air compressor “nipple” with a regulator? I’m wondering if it would help avoid bleed down and pressure lose when you’re under the car and not able to pump it back up? Thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Xoutpost.com |

Clockwork, nice work, I will be plagiarizing your idea. After I saw your post, I looked it up on Youtube. Most seem to install a pressure gauge. Did put a pressure gauge on it? Or is there some other way of avoiding too much pressure?

![]() I will never put brake fluid in the pressure vessel so I will ALWAYS check the brake fluid reservoir After each caliper bleed (or more often) just to ensure my reservoir is full anyhow, so I have to be by the pressure vessel anyhow so I will release pressure from the vessel, via the yellow turn knob, and then check fluid level and repressurize. So pressure bleed off is not of concern to me, and in some ways a safety check so I do NOT accidentally pump air into the system. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

Ahh yes, I totally see the logic in that and agree - that is a seriously smart idea, building in a solid check and balance point ![]() Add fluid to the reservoir, pressurize and bleed, so simple I didn't see it at first! And I love the fact that it forces you to check your work as you go - again, nice job on that! |

I bought one that ONLY reads to 35 PSI, (just over 2 bar) which is great as you should never put more than 2 bar (29 PSI) of pressure on reservoir. I purchased this from Amazon.ca I put it on opposite side of the pressure release valve, up high so gauge points up as you pump and doesn't make pressure vessel side heavy and want to tip over, as no fluid wil be inside to keep vertical. ![]() Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk ![]() ![]()

I tried using the Motive but with so many different brands of cars Motive was not realistic to use as their universal cap for reservoir was crap at best.
I went with a unit that pulls doesnt push the fluid and works well and no special adapters and crap needed. It is however used in combination with old school bleeding as well. |

This was my approach, too.

I also have the Motive pressure bleeder and had great results using it. I did fill the tank with brake fluid as it is one of the less expensive fluids we use. It performed flawlessly on my E53 for just a simple brake fluid flush and on my E46 when I did the BBK conversion. Couldn't be happier with the product.
