With all the measurements listed on various threads, just make one yourself for like $50 in materials. I've never made a box myself, but it wasn't that hard. Zerochiefs is definately the hardest since it has the most cuts. There are measurements floating around for Essam's box, which is easier to make, and a duplicate of the Elemental Designs box as well. Easy weekend projects w/ a sheet or two of MDF, a tape measure, caulk, screws and a table/skil saw.

Off topic, but you can also throw on a pre-VANOS intake manifold for about $50 vs Dinan's $1300 to add another intake mod to your list.

I'm a former Dinan fan before I realized where they were cutting corners and reselling stock pieces, and since more aftermarket manfacturers have come into the playing field, there are cheaper and more efficient alternatives...but each has its tradeoffs as well. If you've got the 4.4, Dinan sells an intake manifold that is nothing more than a factory pre-VANOS manfiold and/or the same one used on the 4.6 motor. 540 and 740 owners have done this mod plenty of times, but it appears not many X5 owners know about this. I got mine from a guy who wrecked his 740 for $50 shipped, otherwise you can find them all over junkyard websites like Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market.

There's always turbo You wouldn't be the first to FI a 4.8, but tuning is going to be the biggest hurdle.

I agree with the above, cut a hole on that cover and put a grille on the front, you'll be good to go...

You have to be careful about what driver to use in that enclosure. You don't have a lot of depth which is why JL put a lower end sub in there since it has less depth requirements...

I removed the fuel door locking mechanism, that's why I'm modifying my box to use the space in the factory enclosure where that was concaved in, along w/ a few other places. Xoutpost.com - View Single Post - Custom Subwoofer Enclosure and Amp Installed

Tuning? Piston compression, intercooler, fuel throttle and injectors are needed at the very least.. more than tuning troll
