I just went to check what the warranty I got back in 08' for the E53 would cost for the E90 i am going to pick up next week and was hit with sticker shock. I gave just over 3k back in 08' for the securecare+ 100k miles warranty. Same warranty now for a car that would be a year newer and has 7k less miles on it and no all wheel drive is now just over 4500. not going to pony up the dough for that one. luckily the E90 is a CPO car and cover out until the end of 2013.

Update

2nd time in the shop

I brought it in for a Service Engine Light, torn CV boot, Rear hatch could not be opened from the rear handle only by using the key fob, crank case vent issue, and a driver mirror that is corroding.

I brought it into the shop last Thursday night and got a call back Friday with the list of issues and the news that the claims department was closed for Good Friday. No big deal I would get to keep the '11 528i loaner for the weekend. I got a call on Monday from the dealer saying they wanted to send out an adjuster. Got a call today on what was covered. The CV boot along with the MAF and and an exhaust sensor to clear the SES light. The rear "Grip Strip" was corroded so not covered and the driver mirror also not covered because again corrosion. They also will not cover the CCV because it has to do with emissions control. They also wanted the dealer to install after market parts which the dealer said no to. I will have to cover about 110.00 worth of parts costs. I do not have the bill yet but my total with deductible will be 165.00 and i believe the jobs come in at about 800.00. So I have now broke even on my warranty and still have 10 months left or 35k miles of coverage. I am still happy with Warranty Direct other than their prices have gone up.
