Do you know if it is the correct PN for a 2005?

It was the correct P/N for mine. I would have to assume that the displays are exactly the same.

I ordered this from HongKong Eurotech Electronics Co. in accordance with what I gathered on this post. The only numbers that I can find on the part is B0242 (on the left back upper corner) and 65000067s (on the right). I have had this for several months and I just took it out of the box today. It is still in the static-proof protective film....

Exclamation Right side knob

Yeah I did mean the mechanism behind it... The knob turns fine but on the screen or the electronics behind the thing thinks that I only turned it like 1 or 2 time either up or down... Anyone have a fix for this?

New owner of 2006 e53. Great stuff in this thread on replacing the LCD screen. Ordered mine from Eurotech and installed last night to replace screen with gray pixels.

Everything went well, but a new wrinkle: After hooking everything back up new screen displays everything with no backlight, but I can go into settings and when I select brightness the backlight turns on and works fine/adjusts only to slowly dim back out after a few seconds.

Anyone experience this or have suggestions or could this be the dreaded inverter?
