HELP - Power Steering Hose / Leak Question

Hello!

On my 2006 X5 3.0i, I have the power steering hose leak also which was diagnosed by BMW of Fairfax. I currently have it at a local shop to replace the hose; however, I just received a call from the shop to replace the reservoir also since it must be removed to replace the hose. The logic that the shop guy used is that "the reservoir will eventually need replacing, but nothing is wrong with it."

Is it actually necessary to remove the reservoir to replace the hose or is this total BS?

Thanks.
