Ok, figured it out why the Stock Amp was not turning on. My Power Supply auto amp on wire was only putting out 6.45 volts. I need to check with the manufacturer why it's not at least 12. Anyways, used my Ignition On wire and walla, it turns on.

I got another question now. The Stock Amp doesn't seem like it's amplifying the sound much. I have my Carputer at max volume and it is average but not loud. I hook up the Stock Stereo back up and I can crank the volume.

Would this have to do with how many watts the Carputer is putting out vs what the Stock Stereo is putting out? Or is there another wire that may need to be activated in order to amplify it more (a loudness button per se).

Any ideas?

Bumping an old question because I can't get my stock amp to come on and I'm having no luck searching.

01 X5 4.4 with DSP no nav. What I'm simply trying to do is use an aftermarket deck, then use the stock amp, stock speaker and stock sub. I'm not interested at this moment in routing wires, RCA's, replacing factory amps with stock amps, etc...I just want the aftermarket stereo and everthing else to be stock for now. I've got an adapter that plugs into the stock harness, which then gives me bare ends for power, ground, speakers, etc but touching the remote turn on from the aftermarket deck to the 3-4 remaining from the adapter isn't turning the factory amp on, so I've got zero sound.

I've done an install like this YEARS ago, but I also ran RCA's from the deck to an afermarket amp and fiberglassed an 8" sub into the factory enclosure..but I don't remember how I powered he stock speakers.

To use the stock amps I put the CD player in back under where the changer would be if I had it & used it's wires to keep my system on.

I used this video.

There is another pin that needs power or it turns off after 15 minutes.

He shows the pins needed on the back on the deck, but not close enough to see what I need to connect to where the amp/changer is. Halfway there.

It is currently disassembled in my X and the CD player is back in the dash awaiting a replacement HU.

I think the extra was 13, I am certain one is 9 & another 5.

Are you referring to the backside of the CD player or in the compartment where the amp is? I've got a CD changer back there as well; do I need to unhook that and use one if it's connectors?

Bump since you've done this...I can see the connections on the backside of the deck but I'm still curious as to what/where things hookup inside the hatch area.
