Id say its worth about 40k. While ebay is a great place to guage prices...its not the end all be all for pricing high end cars. Notice that almost none of the cars over $20k sell on ebay. Also...if the X5 has CPO...thats certainly worth a lot more than one on ebay without CPO. I know these things have tanked a little bit because of high gas prices, but they are still bringing crazy money at the auctions. As gas prices start to drop...watch the 4.6is and 4.8is start to creep back up on what they sell for.

I have never liked buying a car from a dealer...(my brother owns a dealer, so I do buy from him), but I feel really good about the deal I got on my 4.6is. This is one of the few vehicles I did not buy from him. I paid $42500 with 45k miles on it back in September. It is CPO'd until September of 2008. My dealer also has really good customer service. If you find a really nice 4.6is...and it has what you want...Id say go for it...You will have room to negotiate price, so I am sure you can do a lot better than what they quoted you. Remember, there are not a lot of 4.6is's out there, so fine a nice one and lock in on it. I did a ton of research before I bought mine, and got everything I wanted...Good luck with your quest for a 4.6is. You will really enjoy the extra power..and everything else about it.
