UPDATE: 4.8 brake pads fitted

Well between the supplier going away for a week and then me doing the same, finally got round to fitting the new RED STUFF CERAMIC pads from EBC for the 4.8.

As they are still bedding first impressions may be misleading, but I can say they are superior to the OEM in everyday driving.

There is more initial bite which means that I don't need as much pressure in light braking, and there is no noise.

That continues through when coming up to a set of traffic lights, in that it seems more reassuring when braking harder, and you stop sooner.

Am waiting for a hot day to see how they go for retardation.....

Cheers

Have had a bit of time to drive around and bed these pads in.....

No problems thus far.. no squeal, no dust and they are equal to the original in hot working conditions (city stop start)

Here is my unwashed front rim after 2 weeks of daily city driving with the odd heavy braking stop.....

Nope.... If you look closely in the photo you can make out a small amount of dust, but it is no where near the black rims I had after 3 days with the OEM.

The rear wheels take a bit longer to bed in or become dust free. They have a bit the first few weeks/kms.

I am not someone who roars around and jumps on the anchors every minute and would call my driving style conservative..... that said, there is a significant difference to the dust level regardless of your style/location.

Hope this helps

Ooooohhhh I can't wait to try them. Been looking for a good dustless pad for the 4.6/4.8 for a while now. Thanks for the summary.
