If people would get the hell out of the fastlane, that wouldn't happen...but that applies to me driving my car as well. If I'm coming up on someone doing 60mph in the fastlane, instead of eye f'ing me in the rearview, they just need to move over to the slow lane. I understand they have all the right to be there in any lane they want blah blah blah, but it's actually a law in some states. I've sat there riding peoples asses as they drive right past a huge white sign that says "Slower Traffic Keep Right". Cops to driving enthusiasts know that the far left lane is considered the "fast lane", so people need to swallow their pride and just move over. If not, myself and others are going to get past that person one way or another, either lane splitting on the bike or simply passing and cutting the person off for being an ass and not moving over...making the road rage become both our problem/fault, for them not moving over and me sending my message. I fully expect people to do the same things I would do for them...I watch EVERYONE around me, and while i'm usually in the guy in the fast lane leading the pace, I will also be the first to move over if someone comes up on me because if it was the other way around, I would want them to give me the same courtesy.

Thank you, it was a pretty tramatic few weeks. He lived in the community adjacent to me, we'd left my house and then to see it all happen right in front of me, from the wreck to actually passing away to seeing him after he was finally life flighted to the hospital. I've had a few friends and/or been to the funeral of people that passed away, but this was the first time I actually witnessed it right before my eyes and with my own hands. What made it even worse was when it was published online via a local newspapers website and someone called me a coward for leaving the scene. Little did they know I left the scene three seperate times...once to call the police (no cell service whatsoever), another to call his wife and the last to meet his wife, children and parents at the hospital to tell them what happened...but once I pulled my helmet off and saw my face, I didn't have to say anything.

Sadly he was a good rider...constantly rode the speed limit (I'm usually 5-10 over, so I rode slower with him as to not leave him behind), did all of his hard riding at the track, was the type to always be fully geared up (track suit, riding boots) vs me (jeans, gloves and coat on occasion). He made a very simply mistake of getting fixed on an object in the middle of a 30MPH turn and actually went head-on into another rider coming from the other direction. The other guy broke a rib, but otherwise was fine. Boise is such a small town that my friend collided with a guy that he was roommates with about 8yrs prior. Crazy.

I'm an athiest and stopped believing in the tooth fairy, Peter Pan and the boogy man long ago...but I agree with your other two statements. On my most recent 4th of July, a neighbor lady came stomping all the way down the street to whine at us for lighting off fireworks. A handful of us are former military and proceeded to remind her that we put out lives on the line so she can have the freedom to even bitch at us for celebrating the freedom that far too many people take for granted. This was a collaboration between 7 different houses, so needless to say, we went until about 3am.

I don't camp out in the fast lane. I also drive about 10-15 mph over the limit while in that lane. On more than one occasion, I have had crotch-rocket riders not even give me the few seconds it takes to pass the car to my right and pull over one lane before they slide between both of us. Never had a guy on a cruiser pull that one yet. I have also never seen a cruiser guy pop a wheelie on the damn highway like I saw a crotch-rocket guy do two years ago. Keep in mind that this was in the flow of regular traffic by the way, not at a crawling rush hour pace.

We all know there are idiots that dirve every form of transportation out there. Thing is though, there is a much smaller percentage of motorcyclists on the roads and of that group I see a good amount of them doing dumb sh!t. Thus, the stereotype fits in my personal experience.

That's because for the most part they can't due to sheer weight, just like I can't throw my 7 into a corner at the same speed a guy in an M3 can...but I wish I could. Even thought my bike has spectacular braking and power compared to most cars, things can go wrong real quick to me physically if something goes happens, so I will admit that on the bike that sometimes its easier to just go around.

I don't deny the stereotypes, I'm even guilty of having my own against other types of groups, we all do it. My point is in this case that Joe was simply wrong in this situation as that's not the type of people I run around with, but I realize how easy it is to generalize because I do it as well.
