i take your point, however you are all assuming these tyres are crap, what if they are not??

my understanding is that they are made in taiwan and not in china as most of the "name brand" tyres are to dodge import duties imposed by the US govt on imports from china.

so lets assume for a moment that they are in fact really good tyres, will you still pay 400% more for the name brand over a newcomer??

What if they are, what if they are not. Are you a gambling man with the lives of your loved ones, let alone yourself ? I'm not. We're not debating LED bulbs here.

Same goes to people buying Replica wheels, and aftermarket ones that are plain junk. People see chrome and they are automatically willing to pay for it. One malfunction on these items and you can be seriously injured or DIE. What's that worth ?

Not getting into this current arm wrestle, but on my 3 cars, the Vette GY Eagle F1s were made in the US, the Kuhmos on theCEO's Hyundai Tuscon were made in South Korea,
and the Michey Diamaris on our X5 were made in Italy, fwiw. Not a '3rd world county' in that mix.

Wow. Did I fall asleep at the wheel and stumble into a Honda forum ? People bitching about no name tires vs Proven ones ? Maybe you shouldn't be driving an X5. Sounds like an Astro Minivan is more in your range.

still no one will recognise the disparity in pricing, think yourselves lucky that you can buy name brand tyres for as little as $250 each.

the rest of the world doesnt have that same buying power / subsides or what ever.

let me say in conclusion and then im done, im VERY happy with the tyres on my car.

and after reading all the negativity towards X5,s on this site, maybe you guys doing all the bitching should consider hyudhais.

cause thankfully i have not had problems yet, and if i do at least i can afford to get the repairs done

ok im done and out of here
