I was having a metal to metal contact on my right-front brake. No sensors warnings.

Pads, rotors, and sensors for my X3 was a little over $500, plus DIY. Used a friends heated garage, so I had to spring for lunch. The time was about 2 hours.

Was that for all 4 sides? For the front it seems way to high. If there is a decent size lip around the outside of the rotor surface = time to change rotor and pads, if it is small, 1mm or less (like mine were) they will last one more set of pads. Just be sure to bed the pads in. Its a lot of fun to do!!

All four cornors. Forget the visual on the lipnot an accurate way to gage rotor thickness, mic the rotors.

On second thought, replace the rotors. What I have learned through the years, MB, BMW, and Audi have very agressive brake pads which will eat the rotors up. If you stick new pads onto used rotors, the new pads will eat up the rotors to a very minimal thickness and could cause vibration problems or brake fade. Error to the safe side, replace the rotors.
