So fresh and so clean, E39 M5 one of the top 3 BMW's ever made in my opinion, the car is just perfection.

So lets see... Got a Laundry list done today...

2001 4.4i

Changed the front and rear rotors, pads, and clips

And then found this on the last disc...

Looks like someone at Centric saw the pit in the casting and said, "Ehhh *uck it, just fill it in." So before I put it on, it was filled in with a different material and then blended in. Well I had no choice but to put it on and wait for a new rotor. Contacted Centric and they are overnighting one. I put 10 miles on it and the filler flew out. Awesome.

Oh forgot to add, the last disc also had problems. The last time the brakes were done were by BMW under Maintenance. Well they boogered up the 6mm hex bolt holding the rotor onto the hub. Tried everything to get it off the safe way... nothing worked. Ran to the shop and picked up a centerdrill and some center punches, drilled to the edge of the bolt, insert the center punch and just started hammering till I got the damn bolt to budge. Double AWESOME!

2004 4.8IS...

Replaced the Front Right CV Boot inner and outter. That was a real PITA to do, but got it done.

Installed AUX cable right under the cig lighter in the ash tray. Bent the metal plate to conform to the curve on the inside of the plastic tray. Looks suh-weet and... no more cursing at the CD changer when I hit a tiny bump and my beats skip.

TTGTR, thats some A1 quality craftsmanship right there!!

It's funny you should mention that about the BMW dealer buggering the hex bolt....the dealer here did the same thing with my X (It looked more like a torx when they were done). Fortunately I was still able to remove it though...

Yeah, nothing gets past their SUPERIOR Quality Control team. Haha, I called customer service... The guy requested for me to send pictures of the rotor and box to "Make sure it is our part and not a fake". After looking at the photos, he goes, "Hmmm, thats a real head scratcher." Hahaha. Really now... you dont say.

Finished up replacing the left rear wheel bearing, parking brake shoes, integral link, ball joint, control arm, guiding suspension link, and brake disk backer plate. Quite a job, but my son & I got this side done in about half the time it took us to do the right side.

Tomorrow it gets a new pair of tires and an alignment.

i had a haircrack at the seam, not big enough for level to go down but big enough to leave residue... ordered tank online (OE, $45 delivered), replaced in few minutes... drove with haircrack for a week, about 300 miles total...
