Whistle New Air Cleaner

I bought a K&N Air Cleaner from Germany for less than half the rip off price here in Aussie Land. Installed it in a couple of minutes. Will never have to buy another one as it has a lifetime warranty, and doesn't restrict air flow like the origionals.

Do you mind if I ask how much the whole setup cost you?

Struts & shocks: $661 @ BavAuto.com
Mounts: $181.66 @ fcpeuro.com
Superb handling: Priceless.

Do note that this setup will not work with stock springs. Lowering springs is a MUST (I have B&G S2's).

Free shipping on both websites.

Also, don't Bilsteins come with integrated bump stops? I'm not sure where I read that but I believe Bilsteins HD's come with bump stocks in the shock body itself.
Install is pretty straight forward. I didn't take any pics sorry. My boy and I did it in about 1.5 hours and that was talking more shit than working. I do recommend doing it on a lift. It helped a lot that he had acces to a shop, so the spring compressor was a life saver along with air tools. Do the rears first as taking apart the dam trunk pieces becomes more of a bitch than anything else. Rear shocks do not come with dust boots, so you can buy new ones or re-use old ones. You need bump stops for the rears but not the front. I also recommend getting all new shocks/strut mounts regardless if yours are "good". As I mentioned before, this set up will not work with regular springs. Your ride will be hard as hell. Alignment will be needed after install.

Cost is mentioned in previous post. Ride is awesome now. Feels much more sporty and way less body roll. I took an exit at almost 65 and was amazed at handling.

Well, today I am pretty sure that my 4.6 is ready for the timing chain rail repair. Was out shovelling the snow this morning and my wife told me she heard a "tick" in the engine when she started it yesterday morning. So I stopped shovelling, started the engine and sure enough it sounds like grinding and popping in the front of the engine. Last weekend we had the oil separator valve freeze on us while up at my mothers place and wondering if this accelerated this problem.

Taking it down to the shop for them to properly diagnose it tomorrow (hopefully it makes it). Worse case, $2500 to do the complete chain rails as they already quoted me in the summer. Best case it is something else....with 225000km's on it, its likely the rails. For a first time BMW owner I'm not lovin' it I have to be honest. I call it the money pit! I got 278000km's on my Audi and have had no problems with it other than regular maintenance (brakes, oil, tires).
