Sirius Problem
I installed the BMW Sirius unit in my 2005 X5 4.4i with nav, dsp, aux in, and an Alpine S634 changer working via Soundgate adapter. The changer was there first. Sirius worked great for about one month, then one day it quit. The Sirius mode on the radio works, so it is recognizing the tuner unit, just no sound, and no program data (although once it had program data the other day).
This is the new BMW Sirius tuner that has the single input antenna jack. 1. Any ideas / anyone had the same issue? 2. If I take it to the dealer, will they troubleshoot / fix under warranty? (I installed the unit myself but did so with all BMW OEM parts ordered from Crevier BMW). 3. After installing the Sirius unit I get serious alternator whine with CD. I have seen a solution for the icelink where you swap pins on the connector for a better ground. Can you do this for the cd changer too, and does it matter that the Sirius unit is installed for that one? If anyone has the answers to one or all of these questions, I would appreciate your help, as this is driving me nuts. Thanks.
