still risky, why not bid though.., i bet the parts are worth more than the bid price right now.

That thing is not worth a rebuild. Part out seems like a no brainer, I don't know why the seller doesn't do just that. Lots of allegedly low mileage parts that are highly sought after.

After you include the cost of everything involved with the rebuild and the potentially thousands of small parts that are missing or need to be replaced, you would have to be nuts to want to rebuild this thing.

I get suspicious when looking at a broken ebay iphone, let alone an entire vehicle with an unknown working status for 10 years.

Agree. He should part it out and recoup as much cash as possible if it doesn't sell, though I'd hate for him to get just $2800 for it given that he was obviously building it because something newer (and more reliable, etc) was financially out of reach and the situation with his wife only makes it sadder. Poor guy. There should be an extreme makeover - car edition program (like the extreme makeover - home edition one) to help out a guy like this. Sort of reminds me of the Top Gear episode when they drove from Florida to New Orleans and then gave away their cars to people who lost everything in the disaster.

Overhaulin' with Chip Foose was very similar to extreme makeover for cars. Not a bad show.
