Completely agree as long as u stay within limits...

As I was pulling in the BMW dealer cop on bike coming the other way pulls a u turn and follows me in to ask me to raise my window...

At the time of the incident it really didn't go through my mind that I didn't have to do what he asked because I did nothing wrong.

Anyways my front windows are tinted, not as much as the rears but enough. The device said 32.

Anyhow I ended up in court, the prosecutor said the cop that issued me the ticked was there and he wanted to get me a deal to just pay court fees $150. I declined went in front of the judge and I didn't pay anything since he admitted that he pulled me over while my windows were down.

Even talking to a bunch of techs at the dealer and sales people they say that cop is a pain in the ass...he pulled staff over while they were driving customer cars issuing them verbal warnings, complete jackass...

BTW Nazz good to hear u made it ok...lady must have been really bored

James, that's crazy. I had the same thing happen to me on my e36 325, the exhaust was stock but loud, go so much shit about it.

Danny, I also had that happen to me.. They had me roll up my windows and tested it.. I was dumbfounded that it really matters that much! That right there proves that they aren't there to keep us safe, but rather to bust our balls.

And as both of you said, I don't have any problems with the police either, as long as they are respectful to us too! They technically are public servants.

And as George carlin said "hey you're a public servant, get me a glass of water" Hahahahaha.

I honestly think it's funny how people are scared of cops...as long as I'm not doing anything wrong that they can't officially ticket me for, I'm going to treat them like anyone else. Their shit stinks just like mine, not to mention the COUNTLESS stories we can read all over the internet about their wrong doings just like us.

Stops like this can often be a result of ridiculous, time wasting, money grabbing policies.

I was pulled over after driving away from a bar with some friends. As the officer approached, without warning he quickly opened the rear door passenger door to take a look see. That is certainly a questionable action to take, perhaps even illegal. Then he proceeded to tell me my window tint was illegal. I told him I understand, however I already have a ticket for that, which is not yet due. Knowing he can not re-penalize me, he said he was going to "let me go without another tint ticket." Thanks officer!

Then he proceeded to tell me that I am legally required to equip my vehicle with mudflaps because my vehicles tires are too big. He let me off for this one to.

I was puzzled and annoyed by all of this but I decided not to argue, and I was on my way with zero new fines.

I googled the mudflap deal when I got home, it turns out that in Alberta you only need mudflaps if your vehicle is lifted above stock ride height, it is basically a rule designed for lifted F150's.

Usually I do not argue with police officers, because usually I have committed at least one REAL offence in their list of vehicle offences. I always hope to have the real one thrown out or at least reduced. If you start arguing you can kiss any leniency goodbye.

Please don't use this attitude with Vegas cops ("Metro"). They get away with a lot here, up to and including shooting unarmed people (old man, a woman, etc.). Not guilty is the 100% verdict of the coroners inquests. Do not f'w/Metro. It won't go well for you. Besides, it is tough to take them to court when you are dead. They finally lost a lawsuit after choking a 32 year old man to death while he was in detention. It's best to avoid them or be overly courteous if you have to deal with them.

Weasel will become famous soon enough
Yeah, I've seen videos online where Vegas cops shot an unarmed guy in a wheelchair... among other videos of similar behavior.
