Any pics of the X5?
I try but am definitely learning the platform. Spent a lot of time here reading over the last few months.

No pics yet as I am going to have it professionally paint corrected, detailed, and sealed. I used to enjoy doing that sort of thing but am over spending two days in the garage doing it now. Instead I'll work on the mechanics and mods and leave the detailing to the professionals. Will probably cost a bunch, but hey that's how it goes. They have better tools and products than I do anyway.

Woah... that's "highway" robbery. Literally. I'm in SA, where exactly is Winfield? I'll avoid that place like the plague.

It's a small dot on I-30 between Dallas and Texarkana, AR. Nice folks.

But I have come to expect that from small TX towns. Really good people. Not their fault that they have jobs in law enforcement. I was speeding. I paid my fine. It what it is.

That's true, not the officer's fault. Still a hefty fine for 10 over. In any city that is a $120 or driver's ed + court fee ticket.

When travelling small towns in TX I do tend to stay 5mph under the speed limit just to avoid an hassles. Then again, my last ticket was a very long time ago so guess I've just slowed down in general in my "old" age.

Loved this version of "it not a new car?"
Ex's looking for $$ are such fun. Over the years I have seem more guys loose everything car wise and family wise due to divorces. Not a good time in your life. Power through if you are not over it yet. Life does get better.

US93 out of Jackpot, NV south to Wells on I-80 - 65 miles of nothing - no turnoffs, no towns, no trees to block line of sight. 135mph with over 1000rpm to go to redline. Yes, the math works out to 168 top end.

Hope you are running ZR rated tires and check your tire pressure regularly. At that speed a blowout will definite turn your day into a bad day.

168 is math only. The speed limiter is set at 140 or 150. Even 150 is not in the cards with stock 4.4 hp and frontal area.

Agree. It's a brick. I wouldn't see 168 without a serious tailwind.

Edit: that said, wheel balancing before high speed shenanigans.

BMW removed the speed limiters on 4.4 Xs that left the factory with optional staggered wheels & V speed rated tires.

For the '03 MY 4.4s, V speed rated rubber was fitted to the non-staggered 18" base wheels, this allowed BMW to remove the limiter on ALL sport package 4.4s produce in '03.

BMW states a top speed of 143 mph (aero-drag limited).

I researched this info over 5 yrs ago prior to looking at used X5s, made sure I purchased an unrestricted vehicle.

I always just get a tune that also removes the speed limited. It's like a bonus deal.
