Regarding the question that you PM’ed me about, no there shouldn’t be a gap between the maincase and the intermediate case. Can I just check something with you? I notice in this photo :
![]() that you’re placing the axial bearing washer on top of the roller and cage assembly for the new axial needle bearing. In fact this raceway should be inserted into the B-clutch hub and it’s retained in there by a couple of indentations around the outside flange of the washer that locate in a shallow groove in the hub. ![]() ![]() I’m just wondering if a) maybe you haven’t removed the old bearing washer, or b) if you have removed it whether clicking the new raceway into place and re-assembling will solve the ‘gap’ problem? When the intermediate casing is bolted down there should be between 0.2 and 0.4mm endfloat on the input shaft, which is adjusted using the selective thickness bearing shim ![]() ![]() Phil |

I guess you’ll have realised this as soon as you tried to put the sump pan on but this cable guide needs to be turned through 180 degrees. A tab on it slots into the recess in the casting (they think of everything these Germans!)
