This unit came the closest, so I'm hoping to retrofit the existing amp bracket without having to do too much customization.

I want to replace out the factory subwoofer as well, so I went with the 5 channel amp for the subwoofer later. I didn't want to have to wire a second amp for the sub. While I like having good sound, I also wanted a simple setup/install option as well.
Blkxer, did you finish your install? Love to see pics, I think I am going to upgrade shortly also.

Not yet. Been busy with work and travel. I'll hopefully have next weekend free set aside a day to work on the install. As soon as it's done, I'll be sure to post some pictures and comments.

Sounds like you have some major surgery to do!

Hey...I'm in Irvine as well and very interested to see it in person. I may be able to spare a couple of hours to lend a hand if needed. Been thinking about his upgrade as well, but is still on the fence at the moment. If you don't mind, please PM me your info. Thanks.

Dear Dazza66

I just installed a similar 7" LCD screen in my 2002 X5 and how can I set the clock (date/time) at the cluster of speedometer?

Thanks.

Joe

Paging PHILLY X5...

If you're still subscribed to this thread, I have a few small install questions for you (in the process of installation at the moment).

From what I have read here in the past this seems to be possible only when you connect your removed BC again. Some have extended the cables and have put it into the glove box.

I finally got time to completing my install of the Dynavin and aftermarket amp replacement. Created a DIY thread for reference if anyone needs it: http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...placement.html
