Most of the time the members that have problems after changing the fluid already had transmission problems. I would take a look at it and see what condition it is in.There are no lifetime transmission fluids.

Actually, the trans has never been touched. Pan's never been dropped. Filter is original. I had considered just doing the filter replacement and putting the original fluid back in a few years ago, but was even cautioned against doing that. At the time, the dealer said he had several of the GM transmissions with customers over 250,000 miles on them so I stuck with it and here I am now with more than 375,000 on the unit.

Oh wow that's very interesting, I swore you said you changed the filter. Wonder who that was.

Now I feel much less bad about not changing filter on mine or wife's car. We are both about 180,000.

Wife's car is immobile at the moment needs a fuel pump possibly fpr

I'm aiming for 300k. I'll decide after I get there if I'm going to keep going.

181,877 currently on our 3.0i which is my wife's commuter. Been working from home for the last 2 months and may not commute again until fall (or later).

So the old E53 is getting a well deserved rest! We don't miss filling it with fuel each week.

Not even a pesky CEC light can stop it from reaching another minor milestone.

2014 428i 68,000 miles

2004 325i sold at 123,600 miles
