Nice! I saw an LS swap on a 3 series at the car show a few weeks ago. I'd love to do an LS swap on a X5.

Getting all the CAN bus messages and k Bus messages from the X5 body and transmission electronics to accept the different engine controller would be several weeks alone providing you can even write CAN and K-line messages from the ECU to the chassis. Gives me a headache just thinking about it.

We did an m54 > n63 swap.
Nice bump in HP from 225 > 400 Of course we cheated by also swapping the chassis from e53 to e70. Bwahhaahhaa.

He's a big GM guy who only does LS swaps into things. He put an offer in on an e30 after completing this one and driving it for the first time. ![]() I'll see if Mouse can post a video of an acceleration pull. It is nuts. Quote:

Crossed this on the way to TexFest this weekend. Put about 500 very spirited miles on Red this weekend. Will post a thread about it. Some very nice vintage Bimmers were there. Mostly 5ers as it started as a 5er gathering. Wish I was more social and met more of the owners but had to play rescue wagon for the only other E53 that attended (Sapphire Black 02 4.6is).

Wish I would have been in town for this, I would have taken my e53 I just got back on the road after almost 2yrs. Did timing chains and all the items that go with that project. Have put over 500miles on her since with no issues or leaks 🤞
