A 4.6is, the picture is from couple of weeks ago. 430000 km ~ 267000 miles. Factory new engine at 384000 km ~ 239000 miles. The car has also got a new transfer case after the new engine and pretty much full transmission rebuild this year.

Perhaps not so durable, with the driveline new or rebuilt. How about "survivor" X5's, with all original drivetrains, still on the road?

As far as I can tell, mine has the original engine, trans, transfer case, and associated parts, with 210k miles. The suspension, cooling, and peripheral parts (SAP, windshield, O2 sensors & exhaust, hubs & wheel bearings) though, have been renewed at some time over the last 20 years.

Oh, and the Vanos and chains & guides are renewed, only a few months ago. However, looks like the DISA and CCV have been neglected!

264,000 miles with original engine, transmission, transfer case and differentials. Of course everything in the suspension has been replaced. I put coil overs on and lowered it 2". That necessitated adjustable control arms in the rear for alignment. O2 sensors have been replaced. Did the CCV delete and added an oil catch can. Put the upgrade into the DISA. Replaced the windshield years ago because it was badly pitted. Most everything in the cooling system has been replaced. Pretty much everything else is original to the truck.

My next step is the DISA upgrade, not yet sure about the catch can, yet, have to see if it is still working/not leaking (cap seals good, no mayo traces, but then the Vanos and valve cover gasket are >300 miles old).

At my current rate of accumulating miles on the X5 (less than 100 in 6 months), it might be 285 years 'til it gets 267k miles; I'm 71, and have only driven my five current vehicles less than 10000 miles altogether in the 5.5 years since retirement.

I formerly drove 25k miles a year commuting to work (in my daily driver: '09 HHR Panel), and up to 38k miles a year when also dragracing (DD + my '04 2500HD tow vehicle). Most of my miles now come going to the in-laws ranch, 45 miles away, on holidays & birthdays (there are 4 generations on the compound), and about 500-1000 a year towing my home-built camper.
