TX5...thanks for finding a picture for the gong's location on a RHD X5 (H10 in the pic). It looks to be just like the LHD except the mirror opposite location...but still below the dash & above the accelerator attached to a panel with the sound directed towards the floor. It appears to be close to the door or wall of the footwell.

Christian, there are several items in an E53 that can make a sound - a gong that we are talking about, a speaker for the rear PDC, located behind a trim panel in the trunk, where the rear fuse bank is at, a siren that can be hidden behind the archwell (i don't remember on the E53, is it located in the wheelwell?), of course music speakers, from 6 to 10 or even 12 speakers...

The gong tht we are talking about is located where that picture depicts it - there were not variations in the life of the E53, except for LHD and RHD... If you could not find it, probably because it is absent as it may have been physically removed. Take pictures of the covers in the footwells for use to see, please...

thank you , i will take pictures by tomorrow , its 9.21 pm here now , i do appreciate your help , all other things in my car make the noise they are supposed to , its the bloody gong thing , since my car is rather mute , meaning i don't get outside temp alert or hour beep or belt gong or door open gong and - i don't want those , all i want is my pdc to work and it seems to work , or all other items seem to work besides the front acoustic generator , the gong apparently ! the one i don't seem to find , but pictures tomorrow ! thank you guys

On the e53...the alarm siren isn't in the rear right wheel well like on the sedans (e38/e39 specifically). On the e53...the DWA alarm siren is located in the cowl area of the engine bay:
