Wow that's a beautiful car. That's the color I wanted when I bought my '02... but, I guess all the good deals were only on white ones.

I think you wouldn't embarrass yourself at $15,000 or $16,000 asking price, expect $13 to $15 actual sale price.

I've been watching them on e-bay for about a month

here's a few

WOW!

I was going to comment that he had a 4.6 and not a 3.0/4.4 but those ebay prices are ...

That would mean couldn't get much more for my '04 4.8 if I was selling.

Probably going to keep the 4.8 for life.

What's wrong with that? That's my plan. I enjoy working on this quirky, fun vehicle. Mine is 10 years old 142,000 miles and it feels brand new after front suspension was overhauled. Yesterday I changed the ATF, Saturday I changed the oil and discovered my slow leak is now pretty significant. Tomorrow I am replacing the valve c gaskt, the oil filiter housing gasket and flushing the anti freeze.

I am thinking about another one and the OPs car is sctually what I was thinking about. But, funds are a little tight right now. I'm in Real Estate and we are living hand to mouth a little bit right now... no problem it builds character. I have a new job(was made an offer) I am going to hear in January for start date. If that job happens money will again flow like new Castrol 5w-40 from a honey pot or was it honey from an oil can.... I can't remember. by June I should be able to think about such a purchase.

Selling values are -ouch- making trade-in values laughable, same 'ol Werken cycle. keepin' mine 'til the doors fall off or the roof collapses, whichever comes first.

big surprise, lookit'm'avatar

(sweet ride, btw)

Hey now, you probably misunderstood me. Man with the glasses means "cool". I love my X!

I have no plans of selling the X. I've done the exercise, like most, of asking yourself what would you replace it with that's comparable in that price range - answer for me was nothing. YMMV.

However, things change and life isn't fair. You can't predict the future.

So, when you see/hear things like today's economy and values going down - doesn't make you feel comfortable when you think about "what if I had to sell?"

Rmani, your X is beautiful. It all depends on timing. If you're not in a hurry to sell or wanting to see what the market will bear, price it higher. Then you might find the right buyer with time and/or get actual market feedback. You may decide to keep it afterall.

If the case is different, then that's another story.

However way you go, I wish you good luck!

Thanks for the input guys. Wow only 13-15k that's a bit less than I would have thought. I'm definitely not in a hurry to sell. I still have a few months more of payments and I'll have it paid off. It's really just that I'm going to have a 60 mile commute to work and given the price of gas it's just not economical. I absolutely love this car, the color really pops and people still think it's a relatively new car, but alas, I never use the car.

I'd rather have it to go another person who can enjoy and love it. Like I said, I'm not 100% sure yet.

There is a similar rig for sale on Ebay right now. (red). I'd keep an eye on that one and see what it goes for.
I've been searching for a 4.8is for a while now and came across several of these along the way. I can tell you that the LeMans blue seems to command a few extra dollars over the other colors so you have a plus there.
To the right buyer I bet you can get $17,500 provided you have service records and the keys/manuals for it.

BEAUTIFUL X5! I'd pay it off and keep the hello columbia out of it. Nothing wrong with having a weekend love affair with her.

Then of course marriage has it's duties, so Im told. lol

Well, then look into buying a cheap commuter and keep that sweet Estoril blue for now. If you end up changing your mind later, its paid for and you won't be tempted to give it away on price.

I am rocking a sweet 30 mpg hyundai elantra 5 speed. But I'm paying for and insuring a car that never gets driven which is why I'm giving this serious thought.
