I did the blower motor in my E38 last year about this time. That's pretty much what my 740 looked like when I was doing it...minus the missing steering wheel.

Like others have said, it's not a particularly difficult job, just time consuming and tedious.

That being said, my stealer wanted $2K to do the blower motor, and I did it for about $300 in parts, so my day was certainly worth $1700.

Mine makes a chirping sound during the last dozen or so revs as it spins down to a stop. I am ready for this DIY when it finally fails.

Anyone have links to a good diy? I may have to do this as the heater core of my 4.4 seems to leak. Haven't checked yet but is definitively coming from there.
