X5 4.4 E53 Vs. Range Rover HSE 4.4 2004?

Thanks for all the helpful replies with my previous post but I just got a chance to test drive the Range Rover HSE 4.4, 2004 and wow, that car has the same rear view, cluster and even navigation like the OEM BMW E53. I never knew BMW made things for Range Rover's back in 04?

Anyways Here is a googled image of the RR HSE I am referring to:

And here is the interior:

If you look close enough you can tell that the cluster has the same cluster as the E53 just has green text instead of red and the navi is the same as e53 as well.

Thanks for helping me out guys! appreciate it!

BMW bought Rover back in the early '90s and lost over one billion dollars over the next decade. When BMW sold Rover it still provided parts for a few MY. BMW motors and drivetrain parts were used in some Rovers too.

The Range Rover can go places the BMW can not. It was designed, in part by BMW, to actually go offroad and be used in harsh environments. The biggest difference is the suspension.

If I had my choice I'd go with the RR. They hold their value better and tend to be more luxurious.

I dont really know about that, I enjoyed the handling on this RR. the X5 is more stiff yeah but the RR has more of a easy moving feeling and the suspension is much.... smoother? i guess. It feels like every wheel is doing its job and the X5 feels a bit rougher.

Sir, I have the grandfather of this car - a Landrover Serier III - which is now 26 years old and I can tell you that you do not have to be afraid about green instead of red color in the cluster. You have to be afraid about Lucas - who is the god of the short circuits in ALL Landrovers.

This Lucas has made all your cabling, all your electronics, all your - you name it ......

Watch out for the next smoke that which will come somewhere out of your dash - it will happen.

I've heard the English have grown to enjoy drinking warm beer because Lucas makes their refridgerators!

They hold their value better? Check a Land Rover dealer lot and get back to me on that...

I've ridden RRSport SC, and by no means it's a bad handling car. It's smoother then X, Yep) It goes into bad places better and also goes into places that your X won't even dream about seeing. Yes, It's not sporty suspention like X, It's not that... Tight you know. And when doing rough takeovers it feels like it is moving still after you have finished it, but It's very well held. However unless you boost it up very well, it has no chance about keeping up with X. Yes because of drivertain and also because of engine.
I don't get it why 396HP can't go beat 315... but, go figure.
