Hi,
Could anyone tell me the manufacturer of the manual 5 or six speed and the part number.
I am in the process of converting the auto to a manual.

Thanks

Hi,
Does the 5 spd manual from the Diesel work in the V8?

The inline engines have a very different bellhousing. Anything can be made to work, but it's not bolt on.

...and I would definitely do a 6MT if you're going to go to that effort.

So are we still counting manual X5s?

I just picked up a 2001 5-speed manual from carsandbids.com -> https://carsandbids.com/auctions/92q...001-bmw-x5-30i

Sports Package, etc...

i have a 2001 5spd sport package with 221,550 miles on it. bought it with 136K almost 5 years ago. probably have 20,000+ miles of towing with it. i wasnt even looking or new these existed when it popped up of FB for sale. sent it to a buddy who was looking for a SUV and he just bought a pathfinder (poor bastard) and after thinking about it i thought it be perfect for me. been daily driving it since. only left me stranded twice. first was the front drive shaft splines stripped and the second the new clutch had a manufacturing failure and broke on the highway.

Welcome to the club dudes!

Freedo, I'm glad to see another E53 owner who tows with the manual gearbox. I use mine primarily for that as well and it does a surprisingly great job with it.

Zhent, thanks for posting your car too, though I was hoping our cars would be increasing in value a little more than that. But I'm sure you were happy to get it for that price!

Just joined! Wanted to add my Toledo Blue ‘06 3.0 6MT project! 108xxx miles on the dash. I’ve already got a ton of useful information from this site… hopefully can contribute back!

Some photos from when I picked it up:

Thank you sir! I’m really digging the blue - mine needs a good bit of elbow grease to bring the paint back to (somewhat) life!
