My hitch in 2003 was built by Westfalia. When the hitches became unavailable some years back, there was discussion here and elsewhere on how Westfalia was going out of business due to a death of one of the owners (family business, apparently). That appeared to get eventually resolved, but the hitch is still sourced in batches that leave it out of stock from time to time.

I would be surprised if Westfalia has the design rights to the hitch and can sell it directly.

Is yours removable?

WESTFALIA-Automotive GmbH*|*Anhängekupplung - Elektrosatz - Fahrradträger*|*Produkt Details

This is all I am coming up with looking for Westfalia.

I have seen some similar designs on the E39 and E34. But that is not the OEM one for the X5.

I have seen that part in real oem, I looked just now but can't find it.

My module is in.

The guy that did my alternator & battery did not use the hold down. At least he left it there so I could put it on. Makes me worry what else he 1/2 a@sed.

What are these for?

Do you just need the part number? Here it is: 71600009711. It is under Equipment Parts / Trailer Coupling.
