Exclamation Replacing MAF Sensor

Hey guys, need to see if anyone can help me out with my little issue.

I took my X5 to the dealership and they diagnosed that my "Service Engine Soon" light was because of my Mass Airflow Sensor. Well, it's out of warranty already so I decided to order the part through ebay. part came, was exact fit and everything, but SES light is still going off. Now, I have the RC / FCX3 code reader and it'll reset the light, but the light will still go off later on in the day.

Now, my question is: Is my light still going off because this wasn't an OEM BMW part?

When I use the code reader, it's telling me it's the same thing, the MAF Sensor. Should I just shell out the bucks to purchse an OEM part?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
