To disable the DRL (halogen), if you have access to a NCS setup, you just disable it. If you are in Canada or any other country where the DRL are mandatory, only NCS will be able to do the change, not GT1. The reason is because GT1 reads the country code when connecting, and disable options that are not allowed for those country.

If you want to do it the hardware way, like I did, just rewire your DRL like the schematic I put below.
When there is 12v coming from the car (flashing to pass), the 12v relay kicks in and send that 12v to the halogen bulb. When running normally, there is 6v going to the relay, but it is not enough voltage to trigger the relay, so no voltage to the bulb. The 10 ohms resistor is there to put a load and avoid the burnt light indicator. You will need to install a resistor on each side L-R, but the relay circuit can be used to feed both DRL.

For the Angel Eyes, it is similar. You need to use the red-white wire in the ECU box (red wire with white stripes). You will see many wires with that color, just use the one with the biggest size. They are all ignition 12v feeding different parst of the car. Disconnect your battery before doing connections in the ECU box to be on the safe side. Without cutting the wire, just skin a portion of the insulation, and feed a new wire in the rubber grommet into the ECU box and solder it to the red-white wire and tape it.
Again the resistor circuit needs to be repeated on both sides but the relay can feed both AEs.

I did that modification on my E46 (2004-2011) and my E53 (2011-now) and it works very well.
Nice, thanks a bunch! I will surely give this a try. I have NCS Expert and have my DRLs disabled already, but now I just flip the switch to parking lights when I drive.

I noticed you know what you're talking about with wiring and eletronics, so I'm gonna give it a shot and ask; would you know how to hard wire the angel eyes and license plate lights to come on when I unlock the car? I know theoretically, I just have to wire power from my interior lights to my angel eyes and license plate lights right? But I'm wondering if I do this, than every time I open my interior lights my angel eyes and license plate lights will come on? or if my car on with lights switch in parking lights (AE and License plate light on) and I turn on my interior lights, what will happen?

Sorry, I haven't really got a clue how this works, and I think one of my biggest pet peeves right now is not being able to have my angel eyes and license plate lights come on when I unlock, and not being able to fold mirrors when I lock.

haha wellll for some reason now, I have my Low beams on at all times when they're on automatic - not light sensing anymore :/

If I turn the lights off on th switch, the daytime running lights come on (Low beam on low voltage - works well).. but would be perfect if I could work out what i've done to my light sensing headlights?? - any ideas?

oh, life has gotten in the way - i did not dig any deeper into this issue... but it is still on my to do list...

along with rewiring the right headrest entertianment power to the left seat, wiring the AV and TV buttons to the back console, installing the rear camera, getting the carPC operationa, installing several cameras, one for the front, couple for the sides, one for the inside, maybe installing inside looking camera for something like skypel and getting DVR for those cameras...

Many plans... little time...

how did you get your side indicators off to just have the angel eyes alone?

90% of things that I wanted to have programmed - are done:

got the windows roll up/down when the door is open
windows/sunroof close on remote
high beams on with bi-xenon
doors auto lock
steering wheel tilt upon entry
steering wheel extend upon entry
drivers seat into position upon entry
cold monitoring off for license plate lights

things that were done from before:

fogs simultaneous with high beams
gong off for key left in ignition
gong off for seat belt (warning is still in the cluster)
Car clock synchronized to GPS time beacon
front turn signals are off as side markers
sunroof autoclose on rain sensor
cold monitoring off for Angel Eyes

Things to do:

single push of remote to unlock all doors
autoclose sunroof to remain operational while car is off
Angel eyes ON while engine is running

Things that can't be done:

mirrors autofold on remote
doors unlock with key out
car self driving

If you would like this feature Terminator I have an option for you

Check out my writeup on the carsolutions module. It's just a small module that intercepts the ibus signal and when it detects the lock unlock command from the keyfob it triggers the auto fold circuit.
