Question About iPod/iPhone Integration

I know that BMW offers the eject boxes, etc. for the iPhone, but I was wondering if BMW offered one only for an iPod. I don't use blue tooth and want a hard-wired solution for an iPod that isn't the AUX cable (i.e. so that I can control the iPod through the Navigation screen).

Does something like this exist (in the OEM sense)?

I've tried searching and couldn't come up with anything.

Thanks very much, guys (and gals).

No NAV here, but my DICE allows steering-button skip on my iPad, if that is what you are after.

Yeah, I've been doing a little more research and it appears that BMW does make something like what I'm looking for (it's an iPod integration kit which BMW says should go in the glovebox - of course, I wouldn't put it there). However, just about everyone I've spoken to has actually told me that it is not a good solution and to go with an aftermarket unit instead. I'm going to look into the DICE and also check to see if BSW offers a solution.

My reading is that aftermarket costs you your OBC integration, can cost you steering wheel control, and miriad other issues regarding quality.

Read a LOT before you go aftermarket (I have an suhweet self-EQ alpine 305SBT just sitting around now, as I don't want to do the original-head-in-the-glovebox fix to keep my OBC).

I integrated the Sirius and SC-C1 unit in my x5 and love it! I can use my iPhone or iPod. There is a specific unit for Nav or No Nav systems. Try eBay as well.

The units are firmware updatable and easy to do.

Dice was recently just purchased by Audiovox.

Dice media bridge

I have had several versions of the Dice products. I now have the media bridge installed. Each has worked very well and as advertised. I did the installation of all versions myself. takes some time but with the videos they offer and tech support if need be--it is painless and the way to get what you are looking for and have the option of Sirius XM radio as well.
