weird, I've purchased a ton of ebay parts for my E30 and E36 and never had a problem with them.

man you guys are beating me up over this X5, I expected a lot more "fun project" like comments. Lighten up, it's a $2000 X5, if I drive it for one winter it's paid for itself. I get to tinker with it and hopefully give it a little more life.

We're not trying to beat you up, but you have to realize these things are a pain in the ass when they're in good condition, reliability is not an X5 strong point.

I agree. The OP fails to realize the difference between cheapness and value. Nothing worse then owning a vehicle that has you wondering "will it make the distance to my destination without breaking down???".

There's high value in peace of mind that is not acquired in a $2k X with a laundry list of issues and an undefined owner/service history.

I'm with you! Have fun with it!

Remember, on this board changing wiper blades is considered a mod so you're not going to run into too many DIY'ers (flame suit on)

The 4.4i in my '01 was my favorite motor in the 4 X's I've owned.

Good luck.

Seriously... $2000.00 is a joke. Have fun with it!
