Excellent to hear! Mine is broke too. How did you get the sensor off though? Mine is still adhered pretty well and I was afraid to damage it.

use a box cutter knife and lots of glass cleaner while u are cutting the stock sticker/glue

dont scrape after, just rub with ur thumb and it all comes off

use jus a dab of silicone, spread it with ur thumb, (clean ur thumb, lol) then press it on with a partner to watch the bubbles, and tape it to the windsheild,
wait 5 hours and reconect the sensor to the plastic peice again and voila!

interesting - that means that the statement from the factory that it can not be done in a shop environment is not exactly a true statement...

Let's see if the sensor will stay in place for some period of time...

on mine it is working, kind of nice touch, headlights on, the wipers come on automatically, and i even made to have sunroof close when the auto wipers kick in...

Could i live without it - I sure could... after all, i live without the after burners, the jet thrusters, the gun mounts, the refrigirator in the backseat... and many other things that do not exist... I don't know about them, I am totally fine...
BUT I WANT MY iPHONE!!! AAAHHHH!!!! i am spoiled... i want the toys!!!!

I pulled mine off today and remounted it. The 100 degree sun helped the old adhesive come off. I also rubbed with a microfiber rag to get the remnants.

I'm still waiting for the mount to dry so we will see if it works or not... I applied a very liberal amount and pressed out some excess to try to get the bubbles.

Also another thing to note that I just kind of accidentally learned - the sensor is held to the mount by two sliding locks on the sides of the sensor. The slide down maybe 1/4" towards the dash on both sides and then the sensor just falls off the mount. Maybe other people know this but I sure had an aha! moment when I got that!

Looks like I used too much and it didn't dry complete clear. I guess I'll take it off and reapply some day. :-/

How'd you do that? And if the car can be programmed to do that, why the hell do I have to manually turn the rain sensor on or rotate the thumbwheel when it starts raining? That was a small disappointment when I got the X a few years ago, I was used to the rain sensor actually sensing rain and coming on without me intervening.

Good job on the silicone fix. I probably would've given up early and threw a rock at the windshield and the sensor, gotten me a nice, new, insurance-funded "comfort glass" replacement.
