Could you tell us what it is? Is it a 3.0, 4.4, 4.6, 4.8? What year? Does it run when the engine is not running? Or only when the X is on? Please place your info in your sig, such as mine.

OEM from eBay? Or like has a BMW logo on it?
Anything but the real BMW ones tend to crap out quickly. But it's pretty unlikely that it has the same exact problem as the old one. So how about some specifics? What does the control panel do? Can you change the speed of the blower? Sent from my SGH-i917 using Board Express

All the controls? Or just the blower controls, please don't make us drag all the details out.
You say the control panel lights up but the controls don't respond, like don't change the display at all? Or don't effect whats happening in the car, but the display looks like it does? Your not making this easy to help you. I am on the computer now, and can see that you edited your first post to add at least the year (in response to twinturbogtr) but didn't answer any of his other questions. And you say not ebay, but wouldn't say what the blower resistor is. You are the one asking for help, give details, answer questions.

OEM is not OE. There is a big difference. And most people seem to confuse the two. OE is what you want. OE is the one with BMW logo.
Don't get offended, people are trying to help you. One liner replies don't help us, help you. So please answer bastereo's and TTGTRs questions. I personally still think your FSR is no good.

 I love the one liner posts. And then eventually they get upset. I'm sorry I couldn't tell you how to fix it based on a year. Of course I know its and X5. Otherwise you wouldn't be here, would ya?lol. Second favorite, they ask a question, then abandon the thread. Even though they put; "Help, Quick!, Emergency!" So either they are stranded on the side of a road, used Tapatalk to post and got hit by a truck, or it wasn't an emergency after all. lol Let help ya out bud!! Need more Info!!!!
