I would also renew the FSR anyways. While everything is apart you can clearly see the locking clips of FSR and those are usually not seated properly unless you give some aid from the back side. Not a great problem if the locking tabs are not fully seated but easier to be done when the dash is out. Not clearly related to this task but if you remove the FSR connector clean those round pins properly and use some contact paste. I've seen one E53 where poor contact on those pins caused a fire/melt down and the main portion of the dash melted. What a mess repairing all those wiring looms under dash.
